Color management support and gamma adjustment options are also available, as well as timed screen dimming options. You can use the auto-rotation option if your images have EXIF orientation data. JPEGSaver also lets you position the images around the screen or at random and resize them with simple, bilinear, and bicubic methods. If you want to limit the images shown by filename, path, creation/modification dates/times, and file sizes, filters are available for that purpose. You can search multiple folders for the images you want to display, and the list of images found is stored in a database for faster start-up on subsequent runs. Additionally, there are many transitions that you can choose to turn on or off individually. With interactive options, you can also control the screen saver like a slide show. Several display modes are available for selecting the order in which images are displayed. With JPEGsaver, you can configure the delay between images from one second to 24 hours. And you can change the background.JPEGSaver is an image-displaying screensaver similar to the Windows XP My Pictures screen saver or the Photos screensaver on Windows 7. And there is more control over the resizing of images. And you can turn individual transitions on or off. There are also options for setting where the image will appear on the screen, and the order in which the images will be displayed. Well, the most obvious difference is that JPEG Saver supports multiple directories. What does JPEG Saver do that My Pictures Slideshow can't? But "My Pictures Slideshow" has some limitations that I didn't like, so this year* I DUG out the source code and started work again. After Windows XP came out with the "My Pictures SlideShow" screen saver I thought JPEG Saver would be obsolete. Originally I wrote JPEG Saver because I couldn't find a screen saver on the web that would display a bunch of JPEGs. I really don't know how many it can actually cope with - and I haven't imposed any limit in the software. JPEG Saver has been successfully tested with over 68000 files in more than 700 directories, which used around 16Mb of memory. If you want support for other formats, let me know and I'll see what I can do. It's a Windows screen saver for displaying images with a few options that make it a bit more interesting.Ĭurrently it supports JPEG, PNG, JPEG 2000.
